As part of Seet Dance's education curriculum, we recreate iconic moments from Contemporary Dance history in Lego.

Careful attention to detail and in depth research about each dance work make these recreations labours of love and serious homages to our heroes of Contemporary Dance.

RainForest by Merce Cunningham, 1968. This image is an homage to Merce and Meg Harper who appear in an original photo by James Klosty (1969) of this stunning piece. The iconic stage design, Silver Clouds, was an installation by Andy Warhol. These were helium filled Mylar pillows that floated and bounced around the space during the dance.

A tribute to Doug Elkins' Fräulein Maria which was first performed at Joe's Pub in 2006.  Fräulein Maria is a Bessie Award winning loving send-up of The Sound of Music with Elkins himself dancing the part of Mother Superior to the song Climb Ev'ry Mountain. Charemaine performed in this piece as well.

One Flat Thing, reproduced - dance work by William Forsythe, 2000. We reproduced this in Lego as an homage to Forsythe's striking piece created for Ballet Frankfurt. Famous for its 20 tables, it was restaged in April 2017 by Strut Dance in Perth (Western Australia) as part of a 3 year cultural exchange between the Forsythe Foundation and Strut Dance.
