What parents are saying about last years workshops ...

"My two kids took the Seet Dance holiday workshop. They had a wonderful time dancing all day but what they learned about dance history and theory lead to marvelous discussions around the dinner table."

Georgie Brignell

Dates:  Monday 14th, Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th, Friday 18th

Times: 10am to 4pm each day

Seet Dance January workshops are intensive all-day explorations of movement vocabulary, choreography, technique, and history of contemporary and postmodern dance. Internationally known choreographer and dancer Lee Serle will teach technique and create a work with the dancers. Lee has choreographed pieces on the Sydney Dance Company, Lyon Opera Ballet, and Lucy Guerin Inc. For the showing of the piece, a live musician will join the dancers for a Cage-Cunninghm style 'happening'.

Jack Wardana, internationally famous specialist in Popping, is back again this year to teach elements of Hip Hop and Popping. Jack won the Original Gangsters 1 on 1 Popping Competition in Singapore and has represented Australia in Hip Hop festivals and competitions in Korea and Taiwan. He will be teaching dancers his fusion style of Popping and Indonesian dance.

 The music  .....

We were very privileged to have award winning and pioneering percussionist Claire Edwardes as our musical collaborator this year. Claire and the dancers presented a Cunningham-Cage inspired performance of work on the l ast day. This means the dance and the music came together only on the day of the performance. The audience loved it.
